Research Design with a Focus on Abortion Research

This resource is from the Capacity Strengthening for Abortion Research in Nigeria (CSARN) project. The material was developed as teaching modules for project Fellows who are early-career abortion researchers in Nigeria.

This presentation introduces the methodologies of designing abortion research and how to select appropriate designs for research. Participants in this session were shown how to identify a good study design and the characteristics of study designs for both qualitative and quantitative studies. Fellows carried out group works in identifying and drafting designs for different types of research.
